General light should be provided in the kitchen, provided by a classic ceiling lamp or a more modern system of track spotlights, together with accent light often provided by linear profiles under the wall unit. In the bathroom you need to pay attention above all to the mirror area, for example by positioning wall lights above or on the sides of the mirror, projecting the light on the face without dazzling. Finally, in the bedroom, the most intimate room of the house, general lighting is usually provided combined with accent lighting on the bedside tables, created using traditional lamps or with adjustable clamp lamps, ideal for reading, or even with small suspensions.

There are also places where light needs to be carefully controlled and where qualitative aspects are paramount, with a strong focus on visual comfort.  Examples include offices or workplaces in general, which are also subject to dedicated regulations.  In fact, specific visual tasks are carried out on the desks, such as reading and writing, often with the use of video terminals, which require adequate levels of lighting to be carried out, all without tiring the eyes. Office lamps are characterized by special anti-glare screens and must be positioned accurately so as not to directly interfere with the visual field of the person seated at the workstation.

Linear, ceiling or suspended lamps can be used, with direct or indirect emission,combined with desk lamps that can be controlled directly by the user. Finally, there are environments that use light to create a characteristic feature, such as bars or restaurants. Here the objective is to create an atmosphere that reflects the type and tone of the venue itself as much as possible. Whether it is a meeting place for a large number of people or a more refined place suitable for a few, the light must communicate the level of confidentiality or formality that distinguishes it. For example, a bar or restaurant with tables illuminated by warm, subdued light, perhaps created with the use of table lamps or dim pendant lights, immediately suggests a place that fosters more intimate conversation. On the other hand, if we find ourselves in a venue with cooler, brighter light, achieved for example with spotlights or wall lamps, we can infer that it's a more convivial setting. Depending on the type of space, therefore, appropriate lighting should be implemented to enhance it and make it properly usable for those who frequent it.
